Deborah Fuentes
Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Midwife
Deborah started her journey in 2008, she graduated nursing school and worked as a nurse prior to midwifery school. She is also a Lactation Counselor and has worked with breastfeeding women in her community since 2010. Deborah graduated The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery (MEAC accredited) in January of 2016. Deborah worked as a homebirth midwife in South West Florida before moving to Pennsylvia for three years. Deborah had the great opportunity to learn from traditional midwives different techniques and approaches. In 2020, Deborah and her family moved back to South West Florida and worked as a homebirth midwife until Summit Maternity Care Center opened. She has been serving the community in both birth center and homebirth since 2016.

She has continued her education and is currently a post graduate student with a focus in International Maternal and Fetal Health. Deborah is proud to be of service to families in her surrounding area. Deborah seeks to provide evidenced based care with the gentle love of midwifery.
In her private time, she enjoys her family, spending time at the beach, and relaxing at home.

Holly McGroary
Certified Nurse Midwife
Holly is a Florida native. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Florida. Holly went on to learn the value of incredible attention to detail, critical thinking, and compassion in the toguhest of circumstances while caring for critically ill patients in various intensive care units for over 9 years.
After some intense soul searching Holly found her calling among the holistic practice of Nurse-Midwifery. She attended Frontier Nursing University and completed her Masters in 2015.
Holly has had the opportunity to practice midwifery in North Carolina and at an award winning practice among the VCU midwives in Virgina. She is excited to continue her Midwifery career with Summit Maternity Care Center and considers it a great honor to be able to serve the women of South West Flordia. Hollly seeks to provide safe, effective, and empowering care to women and families in a low-tech, high-touch setting. She believes that midwifery is not just a career but a calling and loves being a supporter to women and their families during this sacred event in their lives. When she is not taking care of women and their families, Holly loves spending time withe her family and friends at the beach, trailing the globe, Zumba, gator football, and quietuses with a great movie and lots of laughter.

Cam Light
Student Midwife
Cam is currently a student at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville Florida and is set to graduate next summer. She has always had a profound interest and love for pregnancy and birth for as long as she can remember. She became a doula in 2015 while finishing her bachelor of science in alternative medicine. With this background, she build a strong foundation and love for individual counseling, patient-centered care, and informed consent. She started at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in 2017 but found she needed a break after college in her second year to prioritize life, rest, and grow before returning. In the years between, she build a thriving art business and social media following around her passion for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. In 2021, she had her son at home with the support of her husband and midwife friends. After his birth, she knew immediately that she was ready to return to school. She received certifications as a fertility doula and lactation counselor before returning to her training in the spring of 2023. She has since fallen head over heels in love with midwifery. In her free time (which she has very little of in this season) she loves to read, draw, and play video games.

Genesis Neumann
Educator, Birth Assistant, and Office Administrator
Genesis is a passionate mama bear of 2 man cubs; one born at a birth center in 2012 starting her breastfeeding journey. Second baby was born at home in 2015, leading to tandem nursing for a few months. Genesis breastfed her children well into toddlerhood. This path ignited a fire in her to empower women to breastfeed and support them on their journey.

Genesis finds delight in helping women harness their feminine strength to succeed in motherhood & their breastfeeding goals. Genesis has a multigenerational household, enjoys having adventures with her family, spending time with their 2 cats, homeschooling and random (but sometimes necessary) DIY projects.

Maya Whitney
Office Administrator
Maya was born in Hartford Connecticut and raised in Port Charlotte Florida. She met the love of her life as a young teen in middle school. After graduating high school in 2016 they moved to Savannah Georgia where they fell in love with the city and even more in love with each other. They moved back to Port Charlotte to be close to family and pursue more career opportunities. They finally married in 2021 and after a few years decided to start trying for a family. In January of 2023, Maya got the good news that her motherhood journey was beginning. She hit the web to look for a birth center in the area and was pleasantly surprised to find one so close to home. She found Summit, a faith based, holistic birth center with an amazing midwife. Maya gave birth to her beautiful baby girl in October 2023 and thought her days at Summit were over until she decided have another baby. She could not have been more wrong. After requesting too much time off to recover from birth complications, Maya was let go from her government position. In need, she reached out to Deborah who was looking for a receptionist. Maya applied, interviewed, and has been working with Summit since February 2024. Maya praises God daily for the opportunities He has given her and for placing Summit in her Life
